Chorale to perform at Legendary
Carnegie Hall
Artistic Director Wen Chin Liu-Young will lead Heritage Chorale in a five-day residency at the prestigious New York concert venue beginning May 24, 2025.
The spotlight on Oak Park's community chamber choir will soon be brighter as Heritage Chorale is set to take the stage at Carnegie Hall in New York.
An invitation to perform in May was extended to Dr. Liu-Young in late 2023. The chorale, in collaboration with the New England Symphonic Ensemble, will perform Mozart's Vesperae Solennes de Confessore, which Liu-Young describes as having "challenging passages but powerful and diverse character throughout the work."
Heritage Chorale, a community chamber choir based in Oak Park, Illinois, performs choral masterworks of many styles and historical periods.
Heritage Chorale Artistic Director Wen Chin Liu-Young is also concert choir lecturer at Benedictine University in Lisle, music supervisor at Project 88 Music Academy in Berwyn, and music coordinator at Lutheran Church of the Cross in Arlington Heights. She received her doctor of musical arts degree in choral conducting and pedagogy from the University of Iowa in May 2024.
